yeah you can fit that on there, my buddy had a taurus just like yours, and when we moved him out of college we took a couch that was almost as long as the car home on it, rope and duct tape. that was a 4hr drive from lower NH to upper VT with interstate driving and such. He had a roof rack, but that was a giant couch, not a thin sheet, go slow and be fine.
I took 2 couches around for a week on my old cherokee cause I had nowhere better to put them.
