The earth sure would breath a sigh of relief if the speed limit was dropped to 55, instead some states now have 80 mph speed limits. Everyone's lives are jammed full of stress and rushing around, and it carries over onto the road. At this point even if a 55 mph speed limit were imposed it would be almost completely unenforceable.
