That's egg-zactly what happened with my 17" convex mirror when it came. The packaging had 1970's dinosaur cars on it (in an LA traffic jam?!?!?!). Instead of returning it, I unscrewed the old-school clamp, drilled 4 holes in the plastic backing, and ziptied it to my current mirror, ricer style. That way, if I want to take it off, 2 snips and it's gone.
