I wouldn't take a guess at the neutral results. You really have to do a before and after in the same conditions to draw any real conclusions.
My mpg's have taken quite a hit this tank. The temps were in the 40's last week, it's in the teens this week and I'm off 40miles by a half tank. So right back to where I started and just the temps have dropped. No other changes.
I must visit Walmart when I get from vacation....
