I usually tell people the average mpg I get, which falls between 40 and 41 pretty religiously.
Though at the same time I wouldnt feel dishonest telling people the highway mileage only, since thats all the car companies advertise anyway. (I also find it hilarious that they advertise 35 mpg highway as "great" mileage)
