I was keeping track for awhile, then gave up, then found this vid from last year today. Everything they have done is a direct attack on old problems.
Being one that witnessed a supertuned straight six behemoth in the early 1990s get high 20s mpg in a 4 door ford pickup,80s mph on the highway at 1800rpm, loaded with junk and a truck cap...wow.

I really like it, and it is indeed a leap into ecomod. I bet a super tuner gets the 30s mpg easily...for alot of work potential.
I see the dakar race this year has vw madness engineering dieseled in (a crazy freakin race vehicle), but at least someone thought of the diesel for the tough situation.
