Mostly because the E-quivalent of fuel consumed using the same techniques in an electric car will usually equal about 3-4 times what you're getting now.

Also, given an investment of $15000, you're probably going to end up with a better conversion than most of the people on here have, with more range, and better overall efficiency. You'll almost definitely see more e-mileage than they do.

That said, you won't be able to drive 400-500 miles or more between "fill-ups". But unless you drive that far in a single day, you've got nothing to worry about. Your fuel comes from any place with a plug-in.
