I'm also looking at new tires for the Matrix. I'm trying not to get too hung up on LRR tires though. How are they really tested? At MFG specs? At max sidewall? How do normal tires compare to LRR at max sidewall? Probably a little bit better, but I still think you gain the most by just pumping up your tires. In any case, I think I'm going to go with Pirelli P6 tires on mine.
