I am planning a series hybrid based on a sand car chassis. It will be 2 seat with a body kit and doors. The IC engine will provide heat in the winter, not to severe in central TX. I would think a small diesel 2 or 3 cyc engine would do well if you wanted no electrics but fuel is currently 2.05 a gallon, bonus you could use veggi oil recovered from a greasy spoon resturant. It worked well in my 95 F-350 truck.
