An update on "Purple Haze"
Hey all, I've been doing some work on my accord v6 and thought I would give an update on my current aero mods and whatnot. I'll use this thread as a running list for new mods/findings. As always..feedback is greatly appreciated
.
My latest mod is front wheel covers. I say front simply because I haven't drilled/attached the rear covers yet. As many others I used pizza pans to cover my 5-spoke style stock wheels. I used 16" pans, which are slightly smaller than the inside lip of the wheels. I borrowed my idea for attaching them from another person on this forum..I forgot who...but props to the guy who thought of using magnets! I used 5 round neodymium magnets, one attached to each spoke on the wheel. I also drilled a whole through the plastic center caps and used a nut/bolt to keep them centered on the wheel. I've driven over 100 miles with them so far and have had no issues.
I've also added rear wheel "spats" in front of the rear tires made of lawn-edging. I have them attached with duct tape and electrical tape for the time being, so that I can adjust them as needed.
Finally, here are some pics of the upper and lower grille blocks that I have in place right now (partial):
