Red face EPA mileage vs Canadian

So, to see how well I'm doing mileage-wise, I look up my car (2006 Focus ZX5 automatic) on the EPA website: 8.1L/100km hwy, 10.7 city. But Natural Resources Canada, who look after this sort of thing up here in the Great White North, list 9.2 hwy, 6.8 city. What gives? How different can the test methods be?

In reality, I get 8.0L/100km commuting 41 km in rush-hour traffic, one hour flat to work, about 1:15/1:20 home.
