BlueCivic, I went to New Milford, PA a couple weeks ago. Going down in the early morning, I got something like 39mpg (hard to tell as I had around-town driving mixed in) and I attribute this to my low speed (average about 62mph) and the low ambient temp ... just a hair above freezing.
Driving back later the same day, I got an all-time-best average of 43.5mpg. I set the cruise at 60-61mph but when going downhill, I would gradually gain speed maybe reaching 65-67mph on downhill sections. I did this going down ... but did it more coming back and about 10 miles from where I got off I-88, I filled up to see how I did.
Unfortunately, I lost one of my full moon wheel covers on the way back.
