One key thing...I mentioned it was kind of ugly and smelly...well that was to discourage her from wanting to drive it ;-) sneaky. I had her drive it once before I cleaned it up (she also noticed the lack of power). I took out the seats and washed the seats and interior real good. Now it smells decent. I personally kind of like the looks of the car (though it could use some wax or paint and a new hood).

lol. My girlfriend _WANTS_ a Metro. She's been prowling craigslist and ebay for one for the last few weeks. She's caught the hypermiling/ecomodding/frugal driving bug from me.
She told me the other day that she really wants a Metro from before 1996 so she's not tempted to buy a ScanGauge (she wants to build herself a 'Guino).
