I disagree. You may find a solution that you use for something else.

How about this Dzus thingy? :

Pegasus - Dzus 1500 Series Sliding Latch and Bushing


The question would be whether the sliding latch would be *designed* to take the lateral stresses of the wiper in action. I think the sleeve would still need to be there, and super-snug.
