Interesting... But from the description in the link, they appear to be doing IR with illumination from the LEDs, no? I was thinking about using the ambient light, with image processing to amplify to visual range, and threshold the lights of following cars.
Wouldn't mind having something similar as a heads-up display for night driving, to e.g. pick up deer before they get within headlight range.
