Mid-grade fill again. Next time will try 91 octane (super), as the Insight has a high-compression engine. We'll see if this coming tank also gets low to mid 50s mpg. |

Tires now being inflated to 46-48 psi all round, maybe a few pounds less in the rear than the front. Top (91) grade fuel being used? I heard that the higher compression engine has it using this grade in the Honda factory repair manual, but this is not listed elsewhere. This fill was with midgrade. Refuel data an estimate. |

Regular unleaded, tires inflated to ~45 all around. Even lower than last trip, due to traveling during higher winds (I live right on the coast) or driving more aggressively? Next fill up was done with premium, which looks to be showing a difference for my next tanks figures. |

Second tank with the new car. The first one yielded 57 or so MPG. This tank had more city driving and short commuting, were the first one was all hilly hwy around 60 mph. Starting the research on how to drive this car optimally. Car's 105,000 odometer says 50.9 mpg lifetime average. Update: My 185/60-14 tires should be replaced with OEM Bridgestones for much better (10 mpg?) mileage according to posts at insightcentral.net. |
