New Distance Record: 64 miles on a single charge. Most of them were highway miles. The last 4 miles were below 25mph as I creeped my way back home.
20.7KWH to bring the battery pack back to a full charge.
BTW, all my fuel measurements are based on the total energy required to re-charge the batteries. In this way, inefficiencies in charging are factored in. |

Drove to work and back at 52-55mph average.
Blocked off the grill. Notice a 6 amp sustained current drop. |

Drove on the highway at 50mph. After 20 miles, the battery pack was only at 80% state of charge.
Drove home at 55mph and that brought the battery pack down to 40% SOC. |

Drove 55mph on the freeway from my house to 500 South and back. Battery voltage started at 131.0 volts ended at 119.6 volts.
This used up more energy because I overcharged the battery. |

Another highway distance test. I still have poor range even after replacing 2 bad batteries. I should be getting 50+ miles on a charge. |

According the the Kill-A-Watt meter on my charger, I put in 10.6KWH to charge my battery pack up to full. I drove the electric truck 26 miles on this charge. At 36.6KWH per equivalent gallon of gas, I used 0.286 gallons.
That works out to 404 Watt-hours per mile. For EV's that's pretty crappy. I have a lot of improvements to make. |
