An epic roadtrip to Mt St Helens with my dad. The roads were very hilly and the Honda struggled with the extra weight, but we did get to EOC a lot. I think the hills and resulting high BSFC may have played a role. My dad, who is blown away by the 26mpg his girlfriend's SX4 gets, is now seriously on the lookout for an EF Civic or CRX. And he originally thought I shouldn't buy it. Yay. |

This tank was split roughly 50/50 between a road trip (the car was still new to me so I just drove nowhere for ~180mi) and commuting to and from work. Most of my commute is highway, averaging maybe 55mph. There was a lot of EOC anytime I wasn't on the highway, but I'm still blown-away by 48mpg. |

The car had been running for less than 24hrs when we did a roadtrip from Vancouver to Wishram (railroad town). It was almost entirely a highway run but I wasn't hypermiling much. The tires were later found to be at only 32psi (except one which was at 18) so I expect improvement. |
