This summer's first realy amazing figures and this was done with wide front tyres, 2" rally exhaust and a pretty heavy right foot. :-) Perhaps these tune-ups actually improve my fuel efficiency by allowing the engine to breathe a little better, reduce some breaking before roundabouts and sharp turns? Driving more fuel efficient while having fun making more noise and turning faster may not be what most people would expect. :-) |

A bit more fuel wasted this period, -why? Well.... I replaced the scrappy stock exhaust with a 2" rally system and that probably made driving more fun. The sound of my engine is realy nice now and that makes me want to pull a little longer on the gears... :-) |

April gave the first results worth mentioning after the winter. The need for headlights and heating prevents me from shutting off the engine and that makes a HUGE increase in fuel consumption. New insane record! Even deeper B&G (burn & glide) cycles and a bit lower top speed. (just above 80 km/h instead of just under 90 km/h. Actual measurement gave 4.04 litres per 100 km but i "topped up" fuel fill to next whole litre just to be sure. Next full tank will be interesting. |

Fuel price is a rough estimation since my 20-25% ethanol is a lot cheaper than the petrol in my fuel mix. I always mix in at least 15-20% ethanol since it both reduces fuel consumption, is hopefully less harmful to the enviorment but also prevents my engine from running backwards (!) when I switch it off just after every "burn-cycle". |
