last tank was on regular Arco gas..
I filled today with Premium..

if I dont get a result on this tank, I'll just stick with regular..
I'm doing this to form my own opinion vs. going off of other peoples opinion..

lots of in city driving, my alighment is off and pulling to the right after an inccodent..

I'm getting new tires with the proper size so I have the proper gearing and speedo % and an alignment soon there after..

also my water pump has started leaking at 118K miles..
Next project

87 octane as well.. I'm seeing a pattern in FE with regular vs premium..

It wasn't a very long distance to travel, but it was all in town mileage.. A friend of mine kicked in on gas and said he'd fill it, so I took him up on it ans went with it..

reguardless of distance, mileage is mileage.. right?

Now I'll be going back to the 87 gas to see if it effects my mileage

watching my vacuum guage alot more and keeping it in the economy range, tires were pumped upto to 60psi front and 55psi rear.. Rides good..

I even hauled about 800lbs worth of granite headstones and cement..

slow steady throttle with very slight adjustment for acceleration..

MY NEW RECORD!!! I need to finish that bed cover and start reaping those benifits..

Still using premium..

at just 1/3 of a tank of consumed fuel I was just shy of 240 miles.. I thought I was in like Flint for some serious FE till I realized my directions called for some steep mountain driving.. That killed it.. but i made up for some of it with coasting downhill.. But I still did pretty good for having goofing around in the offroad areas with my truck.. All in all, my average speed was around 57mph approx..

I'm not sure of the premium made a difference, fresh air filter.. Cant believe they cost over 20 bucks now.. I'm looking into a NON K&N reuseable/cleanable drop in filter, thats bs!..

I also drafted a truck for a good 40 miles solid, its great when you find a truck thats consistant on flat land.. my vac guage saw on average when drafting 18 vac

I also went from 36psi all around to 60psi front and 55psi rear on the tires..

I like it and I believe it made a difference..
I'm just keeping an eye on the wear characteristics..

I'm going to keep with premium for a few tanks worth then go back to regular to see if it makes a difference..

Air filters due, and now this tanks full of premium to see if that makes a difference (experiment)

Didn't draft any semi's at all, they all do 65mph now for some reason?

I dicked around and had some fun and all that for a bit, first time I've gone wide open with it since I've started the Hypermiling journey and it felt fast.. LOL

this next tank will reflect the wheel skirts and indicate if those are going to help.. so far the current tank has 1 trip up the Altamont Pass and that was killing my vac readings..

I'd also like to add that I used to fill up my tank once ever 3.5 days, now I'm at 6 days roughly..

On my last fuel log, I forgot to make up for my slightly smaller size tires..

100% - 1.8% = 98.2 %
444.1 miles X 0.982 (which is the same as 98.2%) = 436.106 miles
436.106 miles / 14.766 gals = 29.534 MPG!!!!

I will adjust the last log to keep correct..
