Drove to Deming on the 23rd, then back to Las Cruces where I fueled up before returning to the house. Used 2.567 gallons of gasoline and 0.341 gallons equivalent of electricity at 8 cents a kWh. I only average 33.03 mpg on IC, but averaged 166 mpg on EV only mode as I used this drive in only the most appropriate places. |

#7. This is what was suppose to be a local driving fuel run however we ended up driving the car to Viva Ford in El Paso, TX to have the OEM low voltage battery replaced. Could have been a clue when they had to jump start the car for us to test drive it. Then I had to drive to a friends house to pick him up for our board meeting/dinner. That was 28 miles each way or 112 highway miles total. So today I refueled the car so I could put this trip one on the highway log. P.S. The price of gas has climbed 20 to 30 cents a gallon over the last month. |

#6. End of trip, refueled in Las Cruces, NM, thence to the house. Note: .00 kWh used on this trip leg although there were 39.4 EV miles travels on regen braking.
Trip summery 1,763.1 miles using 44.65 gallons of gasoline netting a composite fuel average of 39.487 mpg. The trip meter showed 23.6 kwh which amounts to the addition of .72 gallons of gasoline equivalent energy for a net total of 45.37 gallons/e which nets an average of 38.86 MPGe over the whole trip. This is not bad for a long road trip with little additional electrical energy used for powering the vehicle and generally miserable winter weather combined with high speed driving (70 mph to 75 mph). |

#1:Vehicle had 134 miles on it when we bought it on 11/30 with 7/16th of tank of gas in its 14 gallon tank. We added 2.016 gallons on 12/1. We took the vehicle back to the dealer today for detailing and it had about 1/4 tank of gas or 3.3 gallons. They filled the tank with 11.7 gallons so minus the fuel we had not used yet. 3.3 gallons we calculated these results. We are charging the 7.6 KWH battery tonight for the very first time.
ALL CALCULATIONS USE THE TOTAL OF THE GASOLINE PUMPED AND THE ELECTRICAL EQUIVALENT IN GALLONS-E OF THE ELECTRICITY USED IN EV MODE ON THE TRIP METER. |
