Description: |
The car seems to be in good shape and I need to fix up 3 old Hondas and sell 2 of them, so I am just planning on cleaning and maintaining Bro until my schedule opens up.
None of my vehicular plans have worked out. Have I set the bar low enough?
I cleaned up the Accord, sold it to my sister for $250, Mom drove it into a minivan, and the minivan driver made a hard left, crossed 5 lanes, a sidewalk, and a lawn, drove over a stump, and into an apartment building.
My sister insists that it is my fault the crazy old lady who always said she could only drive about a mile decided to drive over 8 miles one-way and t-boned a minivan, but at 5 MPH, in a vehicle weighing 60% more, Mom only would have scraped the side of his minivan.
I was accepted into grad school and haven't been able to work on the Civics.
I made many trips back and spent $8,000, on top of precious time away from grad school, and am only partway through taking care of Mom's house, which she needs to sell.
I have spent:
$587.64 for tires
$14.13 for a valve cover gasket
Maybe $80 for a replacement gasket and hose destroyed by the oil leak
$88 for a Weathertech floormat
$259 for spark plugs, coil packs, and a spark plug socket and extension because I can't find mine.
I had already bought spark plugs and other maintenance items, but didn't take the time when working two jobs and then trying to move 3 adults when two had hoarded for 20 years and tried to prevent me from moving anyone's stuff.
I pulled Denso plugs, while the car, which only has 132,000 miles, would have come with NGKs.
They are supposed to last for 100,000 years, so they were probably still good? |
