This is a higher-end HHR. It's based on the Chevy Cobalt with a retro station wagon look. It has the larger high-performance 2.4L engine and shorter gear ratios. A better candidate for hypermiling would have been a 2009+ HHR LS with the 2.2L engine (smaller engine w/DI and taller gears), but this was too good a deal to pass up. Plus, it's very plush for an econobox.
