Owner: Arctic Fox
アキラ: 2000 Volkswagen Passat B5 Wagon
Displacement: 1.8 L
Fuel type: gasoline
Transmission: automatic
Curb weight: 3100 lbs
Coefficient of drag: 0.27
Frontal area: 22.97 sq.ft.
Instrumentation:
Description: Silver, 5% tint on all but windshield, all LED lighting except for switched DRLs & headlights, folding mirrors on both sides. Driving from North Carolina all the way to the west coast proved 31mpg average on the built-in gauge.
Build Thread:
Current Mods: LED lighting for lower electrical drain.
Mirrors folded during interstate travel.
Multi-vehicle drafting during interstate travel (when permitted).
Tire pressure at ≈45psi [310kPa].
I've found no reason to fill the tank while in the city. One quarter tank is enough weight to carry around.

Planned Mods: This car is at the mechanic's shop every other week. If I ever get the damn thing running steady...:

Electric radiator fan installation.
Thinner tires & lighter rims.
Grille blocking.
Seams sealed (lights, hood, doors).
Switchable alternator.
Moon hubcaps.
Wheel skirts.
Vehicle height ↑ adjustment (yes, higher).
Complete undercarriage covering (belly pan, etc.).
Thinner multi-weight synthetic motor oil.

Possible HHO or CNG injection.
Possible fuel intake modifications (heated fuel vapor).
Possible methanol injection.
Possible ethanol (E85+) as fuel testing.
