1996 Honda Civic DX bought at 150,000 miles. Purchased as a money saver project (I am driving around 30,000 miles per year). Most issues have been fixed on the car since purchase and it is in really great shape for its age and the state I bought it in.
The goal for this car is not to get maximum fuel economy, instead it is to spend as few dollars as possible on reliable transportation. Obviously fuel economy plays a big part though. Total cost of ownership including purchase price ($1800 craigslist special), maintenance, insurance and fuel.
Cost per mile target is $0.05 + fuel which is between $0.09-0.10.
The car will remain largely stock with only minor changes.
I keep an up to date fuel log on Fuelly since I could do bulk import of data from my own spreadsheet. I got too far behind on EM so head there for my data.
