Thats amazing mileage for such a car. Better freeway mpg than several so-called "economy cars" and one that you actually have some interior room in.

Please keep us updated on your findings!

It makes sense that it runs cooler with the grill blocks on ... well, it doesn't, but my Focus runs 3 degrees celcius cooler with the lower grille blocks on.

Smurf, Congrats. Taurus Car Club of America is a great forum. They are the ones that got me into car forums. My wife and I had an 04 with the Vulcan V6 (have you lost your Vulcan mind?) for a few years. I installed a Flowmaster Delta 40 muffler on it and managed a trip at 30mpg @ 68mph. I did run my tires a few psi higher than stock (perhaps 30psi; hard to recall). I also did the poor man's motor mount fix. Wrap a chain around the front mount and the front lower subframe, pull it tight and then run a 3/8" bolt through it. Didn't add HP but did keep the engine from rocking. Felt like it was more powerful...
