If you can, find a library with a copy of Hucho's book and camp out until your head is full of ideas backed with data.

Once you have an outer shell you like (including wheels, fender cutouts or skirts, cooling flow accommodations, etc), use Sketchup to package the major components - drivetrain, radiator, fuel tank, driver & passengers. This is, of course, a big project. I've done it a few times The modeling phase will save you a lot of rework if you put some effort into it.

I remember hearing of the demise of a human powered submarine team in college, that had a great sub, looked beautiful in CAD, but when they built it, the pilot's heels would hit the shell when he tried to turn the pedals. Oops.

Endless lessons await you. Enjoy!

Thats it.....I was going for a design I saw on a concept car as a kid. The two at the top are two of my all time favorite car shapes. That is what I want......but more aerodynamic, and less super wide supercar tire thing going on.

What are you thinking in terms of delivering power to the wheels? Electric drivetrain to save space and weight?

I would agree with Frank Lee about ground clearance. As I understand it, if the undertray is too low the air will get "sandwiched" between the bottom and the road. This is why the Aptera is higher up. Are you planning some kind of "Catamaran" around the wheels to manage airflow?

I haven't decided on drivetrain. I was originally going with electric, but wondered on a 250 and aiming for 100 mpg or more. I will have to look again at the Aptera. I forgot about sandwiching air under the car.
