I guess I'm a lot like crossover owners. I don't care that much if it costs more or is less practical than alternatives. I just love the car design...

3 seats would be more than adequate for me and more realistic

In terms of the RAV4 Prime compliance vehicle
to me that is a DOA option considering the useable storage is less than a regular liftback let alone a V, just zero interest in that platform

Very unfortunate Aptera didn’t get off the pot and release in 2008 before there were other options, if they did I might own one by now and Aptera would either survive and be a cult motorcycle company or they would sell some and stay bankrupt

Given how things are it will likely be 5+ years before I could ever own an Aptera

Ya, well, when you have a wife and two kids three seats just don't work as well.

The RAV4 doesn't appeal to me either. Why get the RAV4 Prime when I could get a Prius Prime?

I said why would I want a RAV4? Why would I want 300hp? Why would I want AWD? Not that I'd be offended if my car had those options. But I couldn't care less if it did. Sure, that's what everyone else wants: an AWD crossover with 300hp. But that's not what I want in the least. I guess I'm the oddball

I've lived in the Colorado mountains all my life. The parts where snow can cover entire houses from the roof to the ground so you need to tunnel in to get to your door. And I've never seen AWD as a necessity. It might come in handy once every two or three years when I get stuck in someone's driveway who was too lazy to shovel it out. But other than that if it's too deep to drive 2WD drive vehicles around it's too deep to drive AWD drive vehicles unless we're talking about the ones with snow plows. And no, I don't think there's a snow plow option for the RAV4 nor is my parking space big enough to merit a snow plow vehicle.

And 300hp? Seriously? I never floor my 200hp Avalon as it is, even when in a full car pulling a loaded trailer up steep mountain passes.

I agree in 2008 they would have had free reign of the mark and they missed their chance to launch.

Of course back in 2008 batteries were a lot more expensive and the guys behind Aptera didn't have the experience in running a business as they do now. Nor did they have the help from people like Sandy Munro.

Of course now they have the competition to deal with. Tesla in the USA, and maybe Chevy or Ford, possibly VW in Europe and then all the Chinese companies that are scheming how to take over the world's EV market by storm.

Tesla? Isn't the Aptera a two-passenger tadpole? There is one other, listed on the stock market, and shipping product.

I thought the original aptera was supposed to be a gasoline burner and they sunk the business trying to make everything but the tires proprietary.
Their experience? Ha. They probably won't make the same stupid mistake twice but I don't think they learned enough to break into a market now filled with super heavyweights locked in a stalemate.
I bet they are just trying to get bought out by one of said super heavyweights and walk away with a quick buck. That's what I would do.

A person who needs 3 or more seats isn't going to sell a child to fit into a 2 seater. But I don't see why someone who's interested in a 2 seater wouldn't jump for the 4 seater if the price and performance are better.

When I was looking for a first car I almost bought a 2 seater Honda CRX, but instead bought a 4 door Toyota Camry. It wasn't that I needed more seats but that the Camry cost me less.

I'd put money in FUV before I put it in Aptera. I just can't see people feeling comfortable driving that on a freeway where the use of such slick fairings is important. Around town, more people will probably want the fun utility vehicle.

I could see the cool factor of FUV being such that motorcyclists give "the wave". I know I would. I'm not sure 2 Aptera's passing each other would even make eye contact, let alone greet one another.
