That was an interesting watch. My process is somewhat similar. My breadboard circuit works as intended. Currently working on the PCB design. I also have a 3D printer on the way to build the display enclosure.

Trying to design the PCB so that it could be used on any vehicle since the 3 trigger points are fully adjustable to the desired outcome.

CANbus is not something I want to tackle at the moment but might consider it in the future.

Been working on the prototype PCB. it's amazing how cheap it is nowadays to have a PCB made. Shipping was more expensive than the actual product...

5 PCB cost $3 and shipping was $16 (from China).

Still waiting on a few components to finalize my PCB. I still need to chart the coolant sensor in terms of Voltage reading VS Temperature.

I also 3D printed an enclosure for my arduino display.

Basically, the blue PCB is the Logic Board which receives all the sensor signals which then feeds into the arduino microcontroller which sends the PWM signal to control the shutter grille position.

Slow progress...but I will get there.

Cheers.

Did you have a look at this CigaR007/
It's above my pay-grade (electronics) but seems to contain all the circuit diagrams and programmable algorithms to optimise a car's alternator and save some fuel..?
I'd apreciate your thoughts on it.
