It's crazy to think that even though biovegetable oil is better for the engine the demand has gone down due to the prices of comercial diesel . Crazier is that you can get some of that oil for free at some local shops.

To bad the gov does not get rig of the ethanol mandate and replace it with a 2% winter 10% summer Bio-d requirement.

Yes I know its two different fuels.

I don't think waste vegetable oil is a solution that will scale to the requirement.

Unless we all eat more fried food. What's the Frenchy Freedom Fries per gallon ratio?

Unfortunately it's not the one-size-fits-all solution, but it shouldn't be underestimated at all.

the existence of BioDiesel in my area (hippie saturated Pac Norwest) is effectively a unicorn sighting

the only place I've seen BioDiesel in the last couple years is on the military base (for Gov vehicles only)
and a single fuel station on I-5 by the south end of Eugene, Oregon (8 hours away)

I've been curious about running vegie oil (and even heard of people running used motor oil) in my 1994 F350 (IDI) TurboDiesel

maybe I'll look more into that

With not that many diesels on the road other then trucks and the cheap price of diesel I have seen stations stop selling biodiesel.

Sad that you don't see more biodiesel available. My TDI loves it. Good thing it gets such good MPG I don't need a lot of it.
