Can you narrow it down a bit, or is it just "I know more than you going in"?

A study of the art of war to win what exactly you might ask..?
War has nothing to do with who's right and who's wrong... it's all about winning at all costs, wrong or not...

You may be onto something.
It's an appeal to authority. Said authority comprising 13 chapters of varied relevance. Most likely nowhere says "Don't feed the trolls", modern times require modern memes.
Lacks specificity.

It's about 'intelligence'.
If one has more information than the other side about the potential theater of operation, the war is over before it ever begins.
Napoleon and Hitler both underestimated Russian winters.
Boron 'myopia' is your downfall. It seems that you never entertained the notion that 'tribology' could be a lot more complicated, and cared to look into it. Fatal!

API Oil Categories as related to 'worn-out' cars
* Here's a timeline for motor oil classifications for all classifications.
* The age of your 'worn out' car reflects on the types of motor oils available over it's service life.
* 'New' motor oil parameters are restricted to 'new' oil. What it is, and how it's treated, bear upon what happens inside an engine, between oil & filter changes.
* Your owner's manual will provide you with the appropriate types/grades of motor oil for your car, as specified by the manufacturer when the car was new.
* What was actually used will impact what actually happened to the engine.

This is where I'll start the 'Boron' conversation. All related discussions will be handled under dedicated headers.

BORPower additive ? time domain
* 'BORPower additive ?' arrived here at EcoModder.com in 8-16-2024.
* Using data for average mileage driven by Americans per year, provided by The U.S. Federal Highway Administration, and working backwards to arrive at 'worn-out' light passenger vehicles with 150,000-to- 200,000 miles on their odometer gives cars of model years from 2014, back to 2010, establishing the USA analogue for cars which fit the description.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Dr. Erdemir's 'Argonne National Laboratory' US PATENT dates to 1991.
* Research resumed in 2007, through 2011, with Dr. Erdemir publishing the results in July, 2013.
* By 2007, Argonne had abandoned the 'boric-oxide plating, reacting with colloidal nano-boric acid platelets in close proximity in a carrier oil.
* By 2011, when the University of Arkansas, USA concluded their investigations, the PAO-4 / surfactant / nano-boric acid technology had never been tested according to the ASTM Sequence test series in automotive engines.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* In December, 2024, Elsevier was reporting on engine oil friction modifiers, referencing 2012 Tribology International reporting on engine friction, which referenced engine tests involving Dr. Erdemir, using year 2000 gasoline/diesel engine composite performance, which indicated that engine 'parasitic friction' constituting 11.5% of the engine's total energy flux for the automobile which measured 8.0-liters/ 100-km ( 29.4208- mpg ( US Gallons ).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Quezacotl commented on a 15% improvement in fuel economy, and 10% increase in engine power, both attributed to 'Boron'.
- According to the SAE, in order for an engine to gain 15% mpg, would require a 75% reduction in 'friction'.
- SAE 30W, Mineral ,motor oil has a coefficient of friction (mu ) = 0.12, and viscosity of 11.6-cSt @ 100-C ( 214-F ), fully-warmed.
- In order to achieve a 75% 'friction' reduction would require a motor oil with a mu= 0.03, and viscosity of 2.6-cSt.
- Mobil 1, full-synthetic motor oil has a viscosity of 3- cSt @ 150-C ( 302-F ).
- According to the SAE, no internal combustion can survive service loads with a lubricant of viscosity below 3-cSt, making a motor oil of 2.6-cSt problematic.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Increasing engine power by 10%, according to the SAE would require only a 37.6% friction reduction, or, mu= 0.07488 and approx. 7.238 cSt.
- According to SAE, if all 'Boundary-Mixed' region lubrication friction were eliminated completely, the engine would gain a 5.34% power increase, making a '10%' power improvement problematic for 'Boron.'
- If, on the other hand, all 'hydrodynamic' lubrication friction were removed, the engine would see a 10.66% power gain, however, we're talking about 'Pascal fluids' of zero viscosity.
- If all engine friction were eliminated, the engine would realize a 16% power increase.
