Are Fuel Magnatizers BS??
a friend has handed me a fuel magnatiser as he knows 'm going down the eco route. to me they sound like the usual ebay-placebo BS. 'aligns fuel molecules for a more powerfull burn, allowing you to back off the throttle etc etc etc etc' yawn.
before I politely return it has anyone here used one??

Short answer-Yes.
There is a lot of inefficiency in engines, but none of it comes from fuel molecules being "misaligned." Assuming the magnet somehow actually affects the fuel in the first place. But, if you're really getting it for free you can do a good A-B-A test on it to prove what the engineering already says-that it will have no effect. But most of the people on this website probably already think its BS and the true believers may still hold out based on their buddy's completely unscientific test with 1988 Toyota Corolla

I think its BS, and I am sure most others on here do to.
BUT... Like ^ said, do an ABA test. It is certainly easy enough to attach/remove the thing, so you might as well test it.

EVEN if they were real, you must consider..... Is the money you save with better MPG going to be more than the money you are spending on these things?

There's a lot of inefficiency in engines, but hardly any comes from incomplete combustion of fuel. Of all the b.s. fuel saving gizmos out there, imho that's the silliest.

One big issue. . .the magnets go on before the injectors. . .So any aligning you would have done. . .is now jumbled well beyond hell and back. Thats what injectors are designed to do.
You should coat them in super glue and fling them at your friends metal body(car) and yell at him. Not really. . .but thats about as useless as they are. . .

You can use them as oil filter magnets, so you can truthfully tell your friend you're using them. And that they are having a positive effect on your engine wear numbers!
