Sad to see her go. FS: 2005 Honda Insight MT (OH)

I'm selling my beloved Insight. Unfortunately, as we plan for little ones, two two seaters isn't practical and I need to start transitioning to something different. Obviously, the Insight drew the short straw

Interior

Interior

The floor mat isn't hiding a heel hole, it's there to prevent it. If you keep using it, know it can scoot forward and needs a little tug back. It doesn't impeded pedal function when it slides forward, but I like it back all the way.

Rear wheel skirt. Honda lost one screw, and I lost the other.

Spare tire is a donut, I still have the old ones if you care to keep a back up. Obviously not for road use. New RE92s and alignment on the car.

Factory Insight bag

There is a stain on the back.

2000 Manual and warranty book.

Extra parts I've acquired over the years.

I'm located near Sandusky, Ohio. I thought the IMA was going, so transitioned the vehicle through the unplug method to gas only. Was still having trouble, and thought the battery leads could be the culprit- refreshed those. What could it be??? Well, my 18 month old regular battery apparently was faulty! Free replacement, and she is back to 100%. I have not reattached the IMA, nor do I plan to. She is running swimmingly on petrol only.

All the locks are the same and functioning for the keys. Rear hatch button works, rear wiper works (but could use a new one). There aren't any of the common failures I can think of, like transmission grinding. She is smooth. Glovebox works, same key. I know she isn't perfect, but that is why she isn't priced to make a profit. Her parts being stripped and sold is worth 2,000, and she runs great.

Looking at pricing, I won't take less than $2,000. I didn't realize how much they are worth!

How many miles does it have? I would probably be interested if I didn't already have an Insight. Good luck with your sale!!

I will have to verify when I get the battery disconnected. 135k, if I remember correctly.

It's not in the cards, unfortunately. Although I'm sure I'll be bummed about it in the future, KNOWING this Insight, it isn't responsible of me to keep it and move to a new vehicle. I was looking forward to teaching my children to drive in it.

Interested in learning more. Does it have a problem with the drive batteries?

Temporary hold for Crisco!

To answer your question more thoroughly, the regular drive battery (like a normal car) is about a year old, and in good shape. I thought a three year warranty, but I'd have to verify. Through Walmart so good wherever.

The battery issue is the IMA, so to run as a proper hybrid (using for extra power, stop start, regen) is NOT functioning.

I apologize for delays, I am opening a new division in my company and working everyday at 0500 and have been quite drained (no pun intended lol).

151k. Crisco hasn't been on in a bit and hasn't responded to my PM, so if he is not on by this time tomorrow I'll have to say it is fair game!

I know how you must feel. I made the mistake of selling my 90 CRX, and I still miss it. My Prius seats are no where near as comfortable, and I miss the driver's side outside vent knob. I have to fight my wife over her too much heater, or my enough outside air through the window.

Main post is updated! Did all the work to make it petrol only, to find out my issue was the regular battery. Feel free to take on that project, but I'll be keeping her how she is. For sale signs are going on her this weekend.
