Well, at least it illustrates how even electric motors can benefit from proper gearing. Not that any of the roadster's drivers care about efficient at a steady ~15ph.

Yeah, plus I often pick up a few bales of hay or sacks of horse feed on the way, to save them the trip. The thought of drivig a Tesla with a bale of alfalfa in the passenger seat somehow just doesn't seem right :-)

I don't care how far it goes, I crave one anyway. (And I have averaged 17MPH on a bicycle for 100+ miles.)

...remember the old saying: "...beauty is only skin deep..." because once the battery goes flat, it's gonna be one heck of a l-o-n-g walk lugging that extension cord.

People who will spend $100,000 on a car, aren't necessarily smart about cars. They're making a statement. They may think the statement is, "I'm rich and I'm green", but it may be closer to, "I'm rich and clueless."

Me - I'd love to get 220 miles at 60 MPH, but with as much fun as it's supposed to be pushing the accelerator of a Tesla, I might end up without a clue myself.

So it's not the accelerator pedal, so much as the de-evolution pedal?
