I have quite a few friends who cannot stand the look of the Prius. We think dolphins and birds are pretty, why not a car shaped like them? I agree that the tie between image/status and cars is not entirely the fault of automakers. Can American consumers fully adopt a priority for fuel efficiency without decoupling the emotion from transportation? Or is our (ecomodders) utilitarian view of cars a minority perspective?

My least favorite car commercial: "Pontiac is car" http://www.pontiac.com/divisional/ne...=models_prices
Click on Pontiac Music and Videos then pontiaciscar.com is on the left

Alright, I have to say it, that truck is down right ugly. I would prefer to drive my toyota tacoma, covered in miss matching coroplast, and a 3/4 grill block, hanging by a few pieces of duct tape and bailing wire. But then again, I sort of have a 'thing' for automobiles with 'personality'

Well there's 95% of the whole truck market right there!

Really though, you'll never see that on a redneck's front lawn beside his broken down camero, but city folk will love it. It looks like a ridgeline to me, just slightly more "modern" styled. Truck people won't buy it, but most truck owners aren't truck people.l

Unfortunately, i think a lot of that yuppie market likes trucks that "look tough" even if they aren't.

Hi,

It looks similar to the Honda Ridgeline!

The bed is begging for a 15 degree sloped lexan cover.
I don't think that 'truck' looks too bad. But you know about opinions. They're like rear ends. Everybody's got one and they all stink.

Thoughts on styling;
A lot of vehicles over the years have come from the auto makers that I initially thought, 'YUK!', but now have grown accustomed to seeing on the road. The Chevy Avalanche is the first one that comes to mind. I didn't like the Toyota Matrix the first time I saw it, and now I drive a Pontiac Vibe! Go figure. I do, however, still wag my head at the Pontiac Aztek, the Honda Element, and the Scion box thing, whatever they call it. And I'm not even considering aerodynamics. I think they're just plain ugly. But people are buying them.
My point is, Detroit can come out with ground-breaking designs/styles when they want to. Look at the stir Ford made with the Taurus in '86. Nothing like it on the roads at the time, and it became a smashing success.
