Of course they're too wide. A utilitarian vehicle is great for going off-road, but only if it can fit between obsticles.

'Obstikles' can be urban, slower moving cars, etc.

The Telos has an 'exoskeleton' underbody, the wheelwells are structural, just like the Cybertruck.

I noticed a considerable amount of 2WD 5th-gen Hiluxes roaming around Bagé. Those are narrower than most of the new econoboxes available in Brazil, and sometimes even lower. Had even seen one with knobby tires on the rear axle, so presumably it's actually driven on some harsh terrain too...

Knobby tires generally means low traction loose materials. So. maybe.

That's the point. Knobby tires on the drive axle, while the directional axle had normal tires which in loose terrain would act roughly like the rudder of a boat.

Jason is too proud to weigh in on a topic he's probably most suited to answer.

I couldn't remember the name Telo when I wanted, but then this appeared before me:

There's a lot to like.

The blunt nose made me think of this, but cars that have adaptive cruise or pedestrian braking sensors should just have an airbag that deploys from the bumper when the vehicle calculates it is not possible to slow below x MPH before impact. It might be possible to run into a brick wall at 20 MPH and sustain no damage at all (minus the blown apart bumper and airbag).

Airbags are located on the wrong side of the vehicle.

Honestly, that big of an airbag would cause more damage deploying. And the explosive charge needs to be massive. Don't want that on the front of my vehicle.

It's also somewhat poetic justice that the vehicle gets totaled impacting something at speed, although rude if you're an innocent participant

It would cause lots of damage if it just exploded a regular bumper, but if the vehicle were designed with it in mind from the beginning, it should prevent tons of damage.

Here's a side impact bag;
