Have a look on ebay at DTM Mirrors for Lupo's I have a set to try out, however for a few euro's you can buy the base plates for them about 8euro for a pair, perfect for this type of camera mod. The parts are well made!

Hi cptsideways thanks for the input.

Those mirrors was actually my first choice.. But I know from former car that I had the view is terrible on them and I just didn't like the design beside they cost 65€ in Denmark

This project will cameras will cost me about 120-150€ when it's done and it will look awesome

Beside I really enjoy working with materials again

Just a small update on the car.

It finally looks like I can soon progress with my side mirrors as I will get them next week.

I have done some great improvements on my driving style going from 71mpg when I first joined and about 5000ish km later I'm at 80 mpg but I think it will be really hard to improve on that mileage without mods on the car. I won't be doing p&g as it's not wery comfortable in the lupo with its Manuel gear with an automated gear changer. Instead i drive with load I think it's called.

It's soon getting better weather so I can take some pictures if the car and post it.

It's really hard to ecomod the Lupo 3L, because so much has been done from the factory. You can get some inspiration from Vekke's thread about his modifications to make a 3L lupo in to a super car.

He copped and lowered the roofline in the back and added a kamback.

Kamback will help a lot. Also get them tires up to around 2.8 - 3 bar in pressure if you can tolerate to drive with that.
I think you've got to stay in the inner lane with the trucks if you want to get to 77 mpg. Calculate how much more time it will take to go to work then. I can be much more .
You got 90 km to work. Staying withthe trucks the trip shold take one hour. Going 130 km/t in the fast lane will only get you there about 10 - 15 minutes quicker. Is that worth it?
If you tailgate one of the trucks most of the way you could bring the Lupe til 100 mpg. Not that I recomend tailgaiting anything at all..... But....

You are doing great so far. More than 80 mpg and under the 3L to 100 km mark on the last tank.
Slowing down to 100 km/t / 85 km/t would yield even better milage.
Maybee its time to start to do some work on the rear end of the car. With the boxy shape it has, the rear is where you can find real good gain, as seen here where the difference between the 3L hatch and the standard are shown:

Later lupo 3l models have the same steel hatch as other lupo models. It was propably too expensive part for the factory.

If you can get one cheap yes. Few kg weightsaving and little bit better aero. But if you arent in a hurry, I will try to make serial production kammback version which will help more than just the hatch
