I've had a few rentals in recent years, hypermiled all of them. It was fun to see almost 60mpg out of an automatic 2016 Corolla. Mid to upper 40's was achievable with the Note.

I think the one style that works with my Forester on the highway is pulse and glide. It runs so much RPM because of the gearing. I have a 2002 manual and I think it has a .75 overdrive but 4.11...
