It isn't a 'wavy thing', it's a swashplate.

Swashplate - Wikipedia
A swashplate consists of a disk attached to a shaft. If the disk were aligned perpendicular to the shaft, then rotating the shaft would merely turn the disk with no reciprocating (or swashplate) effect.
If he says 'wavy thing' one more time....

Interesting concept. However, as the video points out - the company is lying about at least 2 easily verifiable things. What else aren't they telling us as they try to raise money.

TL/DR on the video. The engine has some advantages mainly simplicity, size, and weight. The downside is likely very low torque at high RPM. The most likely applications are as a range extender, airplanes / drones, and generator. Basically applications were small and light is key and RPM is fixed.

I'll add another likely problem which is emissions unless it runs at a fixed RPM.

Technically, it is a 2-stroke... Just with a weird construction.

It's one thing to transmit valve-train forces through a roller tappet; but the engine output through them? It must have more friction than a crankshaft bearing.

edit:
Half an hour and I've changed my mind: 'roller bearing crankshafts' exist.

Reminded me of the opposite-piston 2-stroke layout which used to have its fair share of popularity among Diesel engine manufacturers.
