Best Civic VX Tires

Its time for tires for my VX. I've been running
Kumho Solus TA11 175/70R13 82T for the past 60k miles or so. They seemed decent. I average about 38 city 45 hwy

Shopping at tires easy I see there is a tire in factory size available Achilles 122 165/70R13 79H. It has a crappy wear rating but higher speed rating compared to anything in a 175. Will the factory size improve things?

Also there is a Hankook Kinergy ST H735 175/70R13 82T which has a higher max pressure and a good wear rating but not available in the stock size.

I am leaning towards the Hankook. But I am curious on your thoughts on the advantages of putting 165's on the car even if the tire is not as good?

Thanks, John

I personally like popular brands like michellin and bfgoodrich though I'm not sure if they are available in 165/70/13 size. Regarding Hankook tires, they are a decent choice. If you want to have more tire options, consider upgrading your wheels.

Bridgestone 165/65R14s with 14" HX or Insight rims for max fuel economy, hands down.

If you want fuel economy on your 13" rims, try Kumho's 155/80R13s for a narrower contact patch. Not aware of any current LRR tires for 13" wheels.

If fuel economy isn't a concern get whatever tires have the best treadlife and/or lowest cost depending on your budget.
