Hybrid 'feathered wings' drone

Mimicking birds inflight with shape-shifting wings; a drone could adjust wing loads, roll rates, maneuverability and with smaller swept-back wings make them faster. The articulating 'feathers' allow it to adjust asymmetric shapes, sizes and positions, an simple and elegant solution to adopt to different wind conditions or required performance commands.

Have they ever seen a feather? I would characterize this as a swing wing/folding fan. Overlapping feathers would allow them to have an actual airfoil.

Others are experimenting with warping wings (ala Wright Bros) and seamless flaps and ailerons.
