I wanted to wait to see if it was just a fluke, but I got the EGR fixed after I started occasionaly getting EGR codes.

I went from 24-25mpg highway regularly to first run 29.5, followed by a confirmation run of 28.6mpg at 70-75mph for about 170miles, and 22.5 (1 run) arround town.

What was wrong was the line was burned through and clogged, the valve was full of carbon. This leads me to think that the loss of mileage when we switched to E10 was just a coincidence and was the problem with my EGR beginning to show up. I am now at or about the mileage I was getting before E-10 with no mods.

Unfortunately a clip was left off of the air cleaner during the repair and it rubbed the AC line cutting a hole in it. With temperatures soon approaching 3 digits I'm gonna now have to get that fixed.

Glad it worked out for you. I still have the dreaded P0400 EGR code after cleaning the intake ports and egr. I just converted the mechanical fan clutch over to a dual electric fan. I will know early next week on if it made a diff on mpg. I will mention this: no more jet engine noise from the clutch! Quieter and throttle response definitely improved.

My next mod will be the grille shutter and stubby antenna.

try blowing out all the lines with an air compressor, mine had a major blockage in it.

Is the EGR even worth fixing?
Sounds like a lot of cash.

Without EGR the CPU will retard the timing to prevent spark knock.

It only cost me about $150, he hit right on the problem right off the bat.

Yeah I would say its worth it, at the very least it runs noticably better, which I did not expect it to do. Most likely for the reason that old Mech mentioned.
