1997 Civic CX with HX engine and VX trans.
Sold
Selling my 1997 Honda Civic CX. After getting a VW TDI sportwagen for my wife, our family seems to be leaning to driving that 100% of the time over the civic due to much more space. I am only the second owner and it has spent the majority of its life garaged. This car has 251k miles on it, but has been rebuilt from the ground up. Included with the car is the original window sticker, all factory keys as well as copies of the originals, Factory owners manual, and maintenance records. This is not a car where you have to wonder if items work. Everything works as it should and it does not need anything. Highlights of the car are: VX trans HX engine (D16Y5 – vtec-e lean burn) /harness New timing belt, water pump, gaskets, plugs, wires, egr, 02 sensors, cap, rotor, and many other parts Bumper lip 4-2-1 header K&N air intake filter (drop in factory replacement Professionally tuned ECU (Neptune) with jumper harness. Tunerview engine monitoring MPGuino (monitors instant and average MPG) Wink interior mirror side mirror deletes HX wheels LRR tires (Michelin Defenders) practically new Antenna relocation to interior/windshield Lowered on tien springs Koni orange shocks Kill switch EX armrest HX cluster with Tachometer HD radio with Bluetooth, Aux input, and usb port Sony explode speakers New OEM Honda headlights Ice cold AC New parts include: recently refreshed lower mileage engine, timing belt, gaskets, water pump, thermostat, brakes, struts, shocks, springs, battery, trans, wheels, tires, wheel bearings, etc. Most of these items have been installed on the car for 25-30k miles. I built this car to be a highway MPG car. Going a steady 80 mph, I still manage to get 43 mpg on the tank of gas. On summer fuel with a grill block I can cruise at highway speeds and average 55 – 63 mpg. I have had several tanks using mild hypermiling techniques while still traveling on the highway getting 73 mpg. The potential to get amazing gas mileage is there, just depends on your willingness to learn how to drive it efficiently. Being performance oriented as well I wanted to make sure it handled perfectly. This really is a great setup on the car. Also, the vtec is tuned to kick in at 3k rpms and really is a noticeable change in HP. I still have most of the stock items, so if you dislike a mod, most could easily be removed. I am sure there are more great things about the car I am forgetting. That's one sweet looking ride!

Wow.. I've read your thread and was astonished. If you are willing to part let me know. Thanks and good luck with the sale!

Sweet ride. Unique. Clean. Character. How did you accomplish the antenna location move? I just took the whole thing out of the roof and a-pillar and rested it on the dash. I move it about to adjust reception. Got a better solution?

Looks good. For the money I'd go Insight, but you did good work with it
