New car maybe.

I am thinking about selling my 1981 toyota pick up 4wd and buying an Acura rsx type s. I should gain about 10 mpg but get a 11k loan. It has 91k on it. Am I crazy????

Yes, you are crazy. You don't need to go into debt over anything right now, and if you want to get another vehicle so that you can improve your mpg situation and have fun, you can get something else for far less money.

Don't owe anyone anything.

If you owe a note and pay for fuel, where is the savings?

Since you live in a warmer climate, you have options for nice and clean vehicles.
