First time taking the REX to the highway

So I bought my REX on 9/15/11 and have just now taken it on the highway to go on a little trip to a mall.

Iv been tracking my 100% city MPG and been getting around 31-34 MPG

I filled up right before we got on the highway, drove there and back, and filled up again right off the highway and got a insane 58.97 MPG!! If I knew I was going to be so close to 60 I would have kept the windows rolled up and have taken all the tools and stuff out of the back (and maybe threw on a grill block )

That's by far the best gas mileage iv gotten in any car iv ever owned. I think the best MPG I ever managed to get in the 2000 Neon was 35.xx mpg and with my 1997 Accord, with my best efforts got a horrible 24.xx mpg

Im a pretty happy man today, haha. Now I can tell people my combined 50%/50% MPG is about 45 mpg, and that makes my day for sure.

Ok... I talked to another car guy about my latest MPG achievement of 59 mpg, he said that the numbers are too absurd to believe and that I defiantly need to redo my test. After thinking about it for a few minutes, he is right, those numbers are hard to believe even though I saw it with my own 2 eyes. Therefor, the testing shall be redone--

What do you guys think? A 25 mph difference from city to highway? That has to be wrong right? I did fill up both time at a Marathon gas station which are notorious for being calibrated with a potato around here...

Calcuating from a 1-2 gal fill by pump shut off in an 8-10 gal tank isn't very accurate.

Re do the run from a 2 gal container or more trips to use more fuel to remove the fill variables.
