high cold idle rpm

is this normal that my cold idle rpm start at about 2500rpm and take very long to drop

No - dosen't sound right.... Something must be wrong. Should settle at somewhat lower rpm's after a short while.

it starts a 2500 rpm and after about 4 sec it drop to about 2000 rpm and stays there and it drop when i am near 60c engine temp and after it really drop with the increasing temp

vacuum leak; maybe coolent sensor

cold idle for new cars i don't think should be that high. i'd expect that from a 84 fiero but not something new.

Yea seems too high, mine is 1700rpm on a cold day, 1500rpm on a warm day, drops gradually to 700 after maybe 20-30 minutes.

Take a piece of rubber hose, cut it into slices and stick it in the idle port, the small angled hole on the bottom of the throttle body. You can see it if when you take the air filter off. Put just enough so it still idles when it's first started when cold.

sounds normal for certain vehicles.

only way to really know would be to ask someone else with an identical vehicle or to grab a scanner capable of reading target idle speed and comparing it with reality.
