Looks to be just what my doctor ordered. Stop/start, super lightweight, and maybe even fun.....all on gasoline.

Wow - 845-kilograms (1,859 pounds) Euro spec.

The most powerful engine offered: The EPA rating will be less, of course, but if this is what we actually get, then Geo Metro, meet your spiritual successor.

The mainstream motoring press will savage any car that homely, slow and with a basic interior. Mitsu is going to have to sell it on price. (Just like the Metro.)

It's actually a wee bit longer than the Spark, and I've been hearing good things about the economy with the 1.2. The question is transmissions. The Mirage CVT will probably need a longer final ratio for the American market... Something that the Spark probably needs, too.

Maybe just my silly opinion, but what an ugly ugly car. The styling is behind by at least five years.

That thing looks at least 10 years old.

Lack of a manual in an A-segment car earns it a fail.

Correction/Update: it comes with a 5-speed manual too; only Japan and New Zealand get the CVT-only Mirage.

No manual option?! What kinda econobox they tryin' to sell us?!

And why can't we get a sleek two-door MPG car anymore? I like the Mirage coupes. Now everything looks the same, just different front ends. Yuck.

It's just a symptom of the dumbing-down of the automobile. Always gotta make your stuff for the lowest common denominator.

I also agree this car is butt-ugly. It looks as generic as an 8 year old Hyundai. Uninspired and plain.

People like us will just have to keep our own iron running. Maybe buy a "new car scent" air freshener every so often to keep us happy.
