2024 Chevy Silverado EV
The Chevy made it onto the cover of May, 2022 MOTOR TREND.
Problem is, no new real data, not presented elsewhere.:o |
It seems like a great truck. Too bad they're a little late to market and they'll probably only sell a few of the base model.

The real question is if it will be as ugly as the current Silverados.

I looks like an Avalanche.
I wouldn't consider it late to market, I bet it ends up in driveways sooner than the Cybertruck. |
little late

They'll let the 'other guy' take all the risks, and if the market takes the bait on something novel, they'll join the party later, and with a high value product. They're extremely capable, and if committees allow, can provide something to shame the competition. Cybertruck will probably slay them on some metrics, but the Silverado won't look like the 'science project' the Tesla is currently being criticized for. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'We're not about to make the world's most aero vehicle that no one will buy.' Releasing the EV in the middle of the cycle of the current generation sounds quite strange. Maybe just a test bed to find out a better setup for an upcoming all-new generation of the Silverado and a more serious commitment to the EV tech? Reminds me what GM did with the hybrid Silverado, at first a mild-hybrid and then switching to full-hybrid, and now there is no hybrid Silverado when it could be a good contender to the hybrid F-150, and eventually also increase its presence on export markets...

It is Ford that is doing a EV version of the current F-150 to be followed shortly by a clean sheet design. |
How is the EdisonFuture doing? I feel like none of these companies are prioritizing aerodynamics...
