2nd tank and OMG 58MPG !!!

I think this graph says it all. :D

And before you say this wasn't a full tank... I slowed the pump way down about a gallon before the end, and I heard it gurgling up the filler tube. I always pump the same, and in the same place/orientation.

496 miles on 8.551 gallons!!

I once again completely SHATTERED my goal of 50MPG.

VERY nice,

Very nice! What did you do differently? I'll be intersted in seeing the next tank.

Wow, that's great mileage! I wish I had a manual. I wish I had one of the older cars which were more efficient. I wish I had one of the newer cars, which are more efficient. I wish, I wish, I wish.........

The first tank (47.8mpg) was some light pulse & glide (with engine on), and VERY slow acceleration. I accelerated so slowly that the glides really weren't much to write home about...

This 2nd tank was VERY AGGRESSIVE P&G/EOC. If I wasn't actively accelerating (in a moderate high acceleration), the engine was OFF, only in specific circumstances (coasting up a hill or for very short <10sec glides) did I let the engine idle.

I don't have a scanguage or anything like it, and I don't even have a tachometer!! My exhaust is shot to hell so it sounds like a harley - who needs a tachometer when anything over 2000rpm rattles your teeth? :P

Oh, I also took about 50-100lbs of crap out of the back of the car. It was even clean enough to carry 3 passengers the other day!

I don't have any aero mods (yet?)

I want to get some pizza pans for the wheels, and maybe some rear wheel skirts. I obviously can't do a belly pan yet because most of the exhaust doesn't even reach the tailpipe right now. :P

Hey, physical feedback is better than a tachy -- you don't need to take your eyes off the road as pieces of Civic pepper the poor driver behind you. :D

Great numbers!

Very nice. Let's see if you can do it again! Keep it up

I'm impressed.

As a newbie here, where are those ecomodder signature tags and that ecomodder graph? I use spritmonitor.de to track my mileage, but it's not efficiency oriented.

I may be wrong about this, but you should probably be prepared for a drop in MPG when you fix the exhaust. Even if it's a jagged, partial leak, the muffler handling the full system's load may be LESS efficient. Exhaust systems are good for the air and the ears, and bad for MPG.
