30.59mpg! 2013 Subaru WRX Sti - Having my cake and eating it too
30.59 tank mpg!
Achieved only with: EOC Side mirror delete Upper grill block lower grill block 45psi tires Not bad considering I have not finished rebuilding my under belly tray. Thanks ecomodder for all of your help! |
Nice job! I'm barely above 30 mpg in my Sunfire... your car would be WAY more fun to get that mileage in. :)

welcome to the 'I just squeezed out 30mpg in a non-eco car' club !!!!!:cool::D
now....were you running the a/c???? |
:oI must admit that the only full tanks I ever got 30+ mpg were on my long trips :o :turtle:
|
30+ out of a Subaru 2.5 turbo is very satisfying. Nice work!

Just like any sensible ecomodder, i only run the a/c while i am dfco-ing downhill = free a/c! Then when i reach the bottom of the hill, i switch a/c OFF...but keep RECIRCULATING air going until the "residual" a/c runs out. Then rinse/repeat. I think what helped me creep past 30mpg is that i started shutting off the engine at long red lights on my daily commute. Also my daily commute has a 2mile hill climb in which i now drive in 5th gear/20mph/30% load/ instant mpg is 20mpg vs 9 mpg driving "normally." This helps me keep my "trip average" higher. |
Tastes good :)

Pretty good mileage from an AWD vehicle!
My kid had a 2007 WRX automatic, and it got pretty bad gas mileage, but you could hold the road on a turn while generating enough g-force to make yourself want to puke! Congrats! |

Your "pulse & glide" with the a/c is similar to my technique. I haven't needed a/c yet this year, but on my road trip to southern CA next month, I'll be "P&G"ing the a/c. Keep up the good work! |
